In January this year Andrew McCubbin released the first single, a cover of P.I.L.'s Rise from his forthcoming album.
"McCubbin gives this PIL classic a new lease of life with an M. Ward almost Low anthem take on the song. Wonderful indeed". Metal Postcard
A second single, Run All Night has just been released.
"Run All Night could be the best song he has ever recorded. It’s very moody and atmospheric rock and roll, with a pastoral sound similar to Died Pretty. Run All Night should be on a film soundtrack someday".

With a sound similar to driving across the country in a stolen car like it's the last night on earth, Run All Night has a War on Drugs / Robert Forster / Go Betweens atmosphere.
Featuring Andrew's distinctive vocals, rhythm and slide guitars, synth and piano, and in what could be considered child labor in lockdown, Andrew's 14 year old son, Huxley on drums, they're held together by Andy Papadopolous's (Ron Peno) foot on the accelerator bass.
Run All Night was recorded by Andrew McCubbin and mixed by Andrew McCubbin and partner in crime, Gary Aspinall (Killjoys). The wonderful, Nao Anzai (Cash Savage / Teskey Brothers) lent his skills to the mastering.
Run All Night signals in perhaps a new era in songwriting for McCubbin who seems to be shedding his Cohenesque skin for a more Go Betweens style literary pop.
